Rose clay face mask

Rosie, pink, silky. This is the perfect face mask for dry and sensitive skin. Rose is one of those flowers that’s been used in pretty much every civilization throughout history both medicinally, in skin preparations, cosmetics, perfumery, and bathhouses for its beautifying effects. Roses are often associated with female energy and have been used as aphrodisiacs, menstrual balancers and fertility, and immune boosters, as well as to combat sleep disorders, hysteria, and depression. But roses also have incredible soothing and healing properties when applied to the skin. They are high in antioxidants and antibacterial components and help control many keratinocyte differentiation-related skin diseases such as psoriasis and atopic dermatitis.

When making a face mask, clays come in handy as they make up great bases for the mask, binding the rest of your ingredients together. Not all clays are equal though, and pink clay used in this recipe is considered the most gentle of all clays, perfect for sensitive and dry skin. These two ingredients are included in one of my new products that i’m currently formulating and planning on releasing this year, hopefully around Valentines if everything works out as planned. I have also included something completely new in this blogpost, a little video tutorial of how ti make this mask and use it. Promise not to laugh ok! It’s nothing fancy, very amateur, but something i’m trying out and want to get more into eventually. Let me know what you think in the comments below, if this is something you’d like to see more of in future blog posts.

Rose clay face mask recipe

  • 2 tbsp pink clay (found in most health food stores)

  • 1 tsp finley ground organic rose petals (from your local health food store)

  • 2-4 tbsp rose water

  • 1 full dropper Golden Radiance Firming Face Oil

  1. Brew a cup of rose tea and set aside for 10 minutes while preparing the rest of your mask ingredients.

  2. Add half a cup of dried rose petals to a bullet blender or coffee grinder, and grind into a powder.

  3. Add your clay to a cup or small bowl and add your rose tea a little at a time until you reach a smooth paste texture. Now add your rose powder, and lastly the Niitty Golden Radiance Oil. Mix well.

  4. Apply your mask to clean skin, covering the whole face and neck. Let sit for 15+ minutes, then rinse off with warm water or a damp wash cloth.

  5. Finish by spritzing or tapping the excess rose tea on your face, then lock in the moisture with a few drops of the Niitty Golden Radiance Oil (or Aurinko Skin Repairing Balm for extremely dry skin).
